Bed Bath & Beyond is an American retailer specializing in household goods. The tremendous offering of merchandise includes beauty products, health and fitness products, home décor, bedding, kitchen products, bathroom products, furniture, outdoor furniture and décor and smart home and home improvement products. Founded in 1971, the company began as a small discount store called "Bed 'n' Bath" in Springfield, New Jersey. By 1975, the company had expanded to 10 locations, and in 1977, it became the first major discount store chain in the United States. Over the next two decades, the company grew rapidly, opening hundreds of stores throughout the eastern half of the country. Today, Bed Bath & Beyond has nearly 1,000 stores across the United States (its territories) and Canada.
